IGF-1 LR3, explained

A modified growth factor studied in cells and animals. It differs from natural IGF-1.

Selected structural, cell and animal researchRead the sources

What it’s used for

Animal research

Muscle research

Animal studies explore muscle growth and reduced muscle breakdown.

Community reports

Body composition

Body composition is a common reported goal; clinical evidence for this exact compound is absent.

Community reports

Tissue repair

Reported wound, tendon and burn uses draw on animal work or studies of regular IGF-1.

Community reports

Nutrient use

Reported theories concern nutrient and blood-sugar handling; longer-term effects may differ.

Animal research · nasal

Nasal brain research

Nasal dosing changed brain plaques in mice but did not improve thinking-related measures.

What to expect

  1. Weeks 1–6

Users report a sense of fullness and better recovery

  2. 1–2 weeks after stopping

    Effects wear off

Side effects & safety

Side effects

  • Low blood sugar, which can be severe; eating doesn't guarantee protection
  • Concerns about unwanted organ growth and cancer-cell growth
  • Blood amino-acid levels dropped in animal testing; what that means for people is unknown

Stop and get help if

  • Signs of low blood sugar or confusion
  • Extreme fatigue
  • A new lump or mass
  • Belly getting larger
  • Joint or hand symptoms
  • Headache or vision changes

Avoid or check first

  • Taking insulin — the combination risks life-threatening low blood sugar
  • Taking metformin — glucose effects need clinical review
  • Cancer — malignancy and cancer-cell growth are listed concerns

How to mix and store it

How to mix5 steps
  1. Wipe both tops

Wash your hands, then swab both rubber vial tops with alcohol. Let them dry.

  2. Draw the water

Use a new sterile syringe to draw the water volume selected in the calculator.

  3. Run it down the wall

Introduce the water slowly down the inside glass wall, rather than directly onto the powder.

  4. Swirl, don’t shake

Gently swirl or roll the vial. Allow time for the powder to dissolve.

  5. Label the vial

Write the preparation date and the amount and final volume on the vial label.

Injecting under the skinWhere, rotating sites, which syringe

Where

Subcutaneous injections go into the fatty layer beneath the skin. Common sites include the abdomen, outer thigh and upper arm. Keep at least 5 cm from the navel and avoid bruised, irritated or damaged skin.

Rotate sites

Change the spot each time. Clean the skin and let it dry.

Single-use equipment

Use a new sterile needle and syringe each time. Place used needles in a sharps container.

Storage

Storage

Refrigerated. Reported period: 7 days.

Combining it with others

Use caution

  • HGH

Combined effects on the growth signal IGF-1 may add to low blood sugar and growth-related effects.

  • PEG-MGF

Related growth signals may add to side effects.

  • CJC-1295 (no DAC)

Combined effects on the growth signal IGF-1 may add to low blood sugar and other side effects.

  • CJC-1295 with DAC

Combined effects on the growth signal IGF-1 may add to low blood sugar and other side effects.

  • Sermorelin

Combined effects on the growth signal IGF-1 may add to low blood sugar and other side effects.

  • Tesamorelin

Combined effects on the growth signal IGF-1 may add to low blood sugar and other side effects.

  • Ipamorelin

Combined effects on the growth signal IGF-1 may add to low blood sugar and other side effects.

  • GHRP-6

Combined effects on the growth signal IGF-1 may add to low blood sugar and other side effects.

  • Hexarelin

Combined effects on the growth signal IGF-1 may add to low blood sugar and other side effects.

  • MK-677

Combined effects on the growth signal IGF-1 may add to low blood sugar and other side effects.

  • CJC-1295 / Ipamorelin

Both affect the growth signal IGF-1.

  • Semaglutide

Both lower blood sugar, which may increase the risk of it falling too low.

  • Tirzepatide

    Low blood sugar.

  • Retatrutide

    Low blood sugar.

  • Survodutide

    Low blood sugar.

  • Mazdutide

    Low blood sugar.

  • Orforglipron

    Low blood sugar.

  • Dihexa

Concern about their combined effects on cell-growth signals.

What the research says

Preclinical · structure, cell culture and animal comparisons

The question being studied

A study compared how LR3IGF-I binds to carrier proteins, acts in lab-grown muscle cells and affects growth in rats. A separate study examined how this modified IGF-1 molecule folds.

Questions

What does 1mg mean?

It describes an amount of material in the unit stated on the label. It does not describe liquid volume, a dose, or how to prepare the product.

Read more about amounts
Does purity mean it is sterile?

No. Purity and sterility require different tests. An endotoxin result also does not establish sterility.

About testing
Can I calculate concentration?

You need a mass in mg and either a final volume or a target concentration. IU and blends require separate, verified information.
