Lab resultsSermorelin, explained
Sermorelin is the active 29-amino-acid fragment of growth-hormone-releasing hormone.
What it’s used for
Study distinction
A study in older men found some hormone and strength changes, without a change in body fat and muscle.
Historical context
The source discusses the older Geref medicine and tests of the pituitary gland's ability to release hormones.
- Research interests
- Growth-hormone release · Hormone response · Growth support
Human growth studies do not establish healthy-adult anti-ageing benefits.
What to expect
- Weeks 1–2
IGF-1 and sleep changes reported
- Weeks 2–8
Body-composition changes reported
- Weeks 8–12+
Ongoing changes reported, continuing through months 3–6
Side effects & safety
Side effects
- Brief facial warmth or flushing (listed on the old Geref label)
- Injection-site pain
- Local or nasal reactions
Stop and get help if
- Headache or vision changes
- Signs of an allergic reaction, or a severe local reaction
- Blood-sugar control getting worse
- Possible signs of cancer
Avoid or check first
- Pregnant or breastfeeding — excluded on the old Geref label
- Active cancer or a pituitary tumor
- Known allergy to sermorelin
- Diabetes or epilepsy — the old label called for particular caution

How to mix and store it
How many units do I draw?
How to mix5 steps
Wipe both tops
Wash your hands, then swab both rubber vial tops with alcohol. Let them dry.
Draw the water
Use a new sterile syringe to draw the water volume selected in the calculator.
Run it down the wall
Introduce the water slowly down the inside glass wall, rather than directly onto the powder.
Swirl, don’t shake
Gently swirl or roll the vial. Allow time for the powder to dissolve.
Label the vial
Write the preparation date and the amount and final volume on the vial label.
Injecting under the skinWhere, rotating sites, which syringe
Where
Subcutaneous injections go into the fatty layer beneath the skin. Common sites include the abdomen, outer thigh and upper arm. Keep at least 5 cm from the navel and avoid bruised, irritated or damaged skin.
Rotate sites
Change the spot each time. Clean the skin and let it dry.
Single-use equipment
Use a new sterile needle and syringe each time. Place used needles in a sharps container.
Storage
Storage
Refrigerated at 2-8°C. Reported period: 10–30 days.
Combining it with others
Don’t combine
- CJC-1295 (no DAC)
They act on the same growth-hormone release signal and may add to side effects.
- CJC-1295 with DAC
They affect the same growth-hormone release signal.
- Tesamorelin
They affect the same growth-hormone release signal.
- CJC-1295 / Ipamorelin
The existing combination already includes a drug with this action.
Use caution
Other combinations
Often taken together
- Ipamorelin
They affect growth hormone in different ways.
- GHRP-6
They affect growth hormone in different ways.
- Hexarelin
They affect growth hormone in different ways.
What the research says
Peptide identity
The official MeSH reference identifies sermorelin as an active part of GHRH, the hormone that signals growth-hormone release.
Structure and receptor activity
Experiments tested which parts of the molecule are needed to trigger signals and release growth hormone.
How long it stays in your body
Half-life is the time it takes for the amount in the body to fall by half. It does not tell you how long effects last.

Questions
What does 10mg mean?
It describes an amount of material in the unit stated on the label. It does not describe liquid volume, a dose, or how to prepare the product.
Read more about amountsDoes purity mean it is sterile?
No. Purity and sterility require different tests. An endotoxin result also does not establish sterility.
About testingCan I calculate concentration?
You need a mass in mg and either a final volume or a target concentration. IU and blends require separate, verified information.
