Lab resultsDSIP, explained
DSIP is a nine-amino-acid peptide studied in sleep and brain activity.
What it’s used for
Sleep research
Small studies using it through a vein had mixed sleep findings.
Other contexts
Older early-stage research includes pain, withdrawal and stress-related uses.
Route distinction
Its nasal stroke-recovery example concerns rats.
- Research interests
- Sleep · Sleep quality · Sleep timing
Small sleep studies have not established a meaningful benefit.
What to expect
- After stopping
Effects reported to last 1–2 weeks
Side effects & safety
Side effects
- Drowsiness, dizziness and headache
- Nasal spray: irritation, nosebleeds, sinus pain or infection
Stop and get help if
- Too much sedation
- Agitation or worse insomnia
- Mood getting worse, or distressing dreams
- Signs of an allergic reaction
What regs say
- The FDA found too little safety information for compounded DSIP and flags immune-reaction and impurity concerns.
Avoid or check first
- Pregnant or breastfeeding — safety is unknown
- Taking sedatives, alcohol or other sleep aids — combined safety hasn't been studied
- Driving before you know how drowsy it makes you
In sport
- The reference reports no WADA or USADA ruling. It cites Russian Deltaran registration, while noting a conflicting FDA registration search.

How to mix and store it
How many units do I draw?
How to mix5 steps
Wipe both tops
Wash your hands, then swab both rubber vial tops with alcohol. Let them dry.
Draw the water
Use a new sterile syringe to draw the water volume selected in the calculator.
Run it down the wall
Introduce the water slowly down the inside glass wall, rather than directly onto the powder.
Swirl, don’t shake
Gently swirl or roll the vial. Allow time for the powder to dissolve.
Label the vial
Write the preparation date and the amount and final volume on the vial label.
Injecting under the skinWhere, rotating sites, which syringe
Where
Subcutaneous injections go into the fatty layer beneath the skin. Common sites include the abdomen, outer thigh and upper arm. Keep at least 5 cm from the navel and avoid bruised, irritated or damaged skin.
Rotate sites
Change the spot each time. Clean the skin and let it dry.
Single-use equipment
Use a new sterile needle and syringe each time. Place used needles in a sharps container.
Storage
Storage
Refrigerated at 2–8°C. Reported period: 14 days.
Combining it with others
Use caution
- Sleep medicines or alcohol
Drowsiness may get worse.
- Bromantane
One aims to help sleep while the other is stimulating.
- Tesofensine
One aims to help sleep while the other is stimulating.

What the research says
Sleep in rats
A rat experiment measured deep sleep after exposure to synthetic DSIP.
Peptide identity
The official MeSH reference describes DSIP as a sleep-related peptide made of nine amino acids.

Questions
What does 12.5mg mean?
It describes an amount of material in the unit stated on the label. It does not describe liquid volume, a dose, or how to prepare the product.
Read more about amountsDoes purity mean it is sterile?
No. Purity and sterility require different tests. An endotoxin result also does not establish sterility.
About testingCan I calculate concentration?
You need a mass in mg and either a final volume or a target concentration. IU and blends require separate, verified information.
